最近はリイシューばっかりのタリスコ。ほぼリアルタイムで追いかけてきた聴き手としては肩透かしの連続であんまり面白くない。最近は設立25周年記念とかでパレストリーナあたりの旧録音を連発した。適当にスルーしていたら今度は82年のマドリガル録音だというので、確保。
おまけが気になる。トムキンズのアンセム7曲。これが88年のリイシュー。またか。フロントは80年代の終わりから90年代前半にかけてレギュラーだったサリー・ダンクレー、デボラ・ロバーツ、テッサ・ボナー、ルース・ホルトンの最強ソプラノ4人。無敵の30分だ。
このおまけにメインのマドリガル・プロが負けてる。パート1人の構成だからというだけでなく表現的にもなんだか薄い。メンバーは下声はよく知る人たちだけど上の方は80年代初頭の混成部隊といった感じ。マーガレット・フィルポットまで参加してる。まだまだタリスコになり切れていないタリスコだ。フィッシャー＋ドースン＋ヒリヤードのガチンコ勝負のような演奏はともかく、コンソート・オブ･ミュージックと比べてもアンサンブルの練りがもう一歩。惜しい。お蔵入りしてたのも仕方ないかも。
カップリングの意図は何か。隙間を埋めるためか？メインだけでも40分ある。メインだけでよかった。
