ラメンタービレ・コンソートというスウェーデンの男声5人グループのルネサンス・アルバム。録音年代は83年と90年で、そのうち83年録音は86年に一度リリースされたらしい。90年録音にはゲイリー･グラーデンが参加している。ハイレベルな合唱団の名指揮者が小さな男声グループで活動していたというのがなんだか嬉しい。
前半はバードやモーリーなどのイギリスもので、後半は種々雑多。イザークのインスブルックやアルカデルトの白鳥など、日本的にはベタな印象さえある作品も収録されているのが目を惹く。こういう作品は、ヨーロッパではどんな位置を占めているのだろうか。
キングス･シンガーズには及ばないけど、軽い声とアンサンブルがなかなか魅力的。83年録音の、時代を感じさせるしっとりとした表現は、インスブルックのような作品では有効だ。90年録音では軽妙さ割増。ジャヌカンの戦いのようなアクロバティックな作品も易々と歌う感じ。エラート時代のア・セイ・ヴォーチもこんな風に洒脱だったような。
